For the perfect fit of headwear such as headbands, sun hats, ski masks, beanies, and more, follow these measurement instructions to get the ideal size.

Step 1: Measure head circumference. Wrap the tape around the widest part of your head, across your forehead and above your ears. Measure comfortably, not too tight.

Step 2: Keep the tape snug but not tight, and ensure it rests comfortably around your head.

Step 3: Record the measurement to ensure a comfortable fit for the perfect headwear size.
Swimwear Measurement Guide
For a flawless fit, it's important to measure carefully based on the specific swimwear style you're interested in. Whether you're opting for a bikini, two-piece set, or a one-piece, we’ve got you covered.
Bikini Tops
- Bust: Measure across the fullest part of your bust, ensuring the tape rests comfortably and snugly without squeezing.
- Under Bust: Measure directly under your bust, keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.
- Arm Circumference (if applicable): For tops with straps, measure around the fullest part of your upper arm.
Bikini Bottoms
- Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso.
- Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and buttocks.
Bikini Sets (Top + Bottom)
- For a complete bikini set, mix and match your top and bottom measurements. Measure both your bust and waist/hips to ensure the perfect fit.
One-Piece Measurements
- Navel to Low Back: Place the measuring tape at the center front, just below your navel. Run the tape down through your legs, keeping it snug but not too tight, and bring it up to the center of your lower back.
- Bust: Starting from the side of your rib cage, just below the armpit, measure across the fullest part of one breast and stop at the center of your chest.
- Neck to Navel: Place the measuring tape at the center of your collarbone and measure straight down until you reach your navel.
Cover-Ups (Long-Sleeve, Short-Sleeve, No-Sleeve)
- Arm Length: For long-sleeve and short-sleeve cover-ups, measure from the top of your shoulder down to the wrist (for long-sleeve) or desired sleeve length (for short-sleeve).
- Shoulder to Hem: Measure from the top of your shoulder to the desired length of your cover-up.
- Chest/Bust: Measure across the fullest part of your chest, ensuring the tape rests comfortably under your arms.
- Fit/Relaxed Fit: For a relaxed fit, consider the garment's width by measuring from side to side across your back and chest.

Caring for Your TJC Crochet Items
Machine Washing Your Crochet Item
1. Load Up the Washer- You can wash your crochet piece with other items of similar colors or on its own if you’d like. Acrylic yarn won’t bleed, but it’s always a good idea to keep colors together.
- Pop your item into the mesh bag we gave you and zip it up. This helps avoid snags and keeps it safe during the wash.
- Cold water is your friend here! While the delicate cycle is ideal, your crochet won’t get damaged on other settings either—so no worries!
- When the wash is done, take your crochet piece out of the mesh bag if you are choosing to let it air dry flat or while still in the laundry bag throw it in the dryer for the next step.
Machine Drying Your Crochet Item
1. Set the Dryer- Go for low heat when using the dryer (the laundry bag is recommend but not required). Acrylic yarn holds up well in the dryer but can warp if the heat is too high, so low to medium heat is perfect.
- If your crochet piece gets some fuzzies after drying, don’t panic! They happen naturally. Just grab some scissors or a lint shaver. If you have any problem please reach out to us, we're here to help.
Hand Washing Your Crochet Item
1. Cool Water, Please!- Fill up a sink, basin, or tub with cool water and add a little mild detergent. Avoid hot water or strong chemicals like bleach—your crochet doesn’t need that drama.
- Soak your crochet piece for about 15–30 minutes. Gently rub the soapy water into the yarn with your fingers, paying attention to any spots that need extra care.
- Rinse under cool water until the soap is gone and the water runs clear. Don’t twist or wring it out—just gently press out the extra water.
- Lay your crochet flat on a towel and roll it up to absorb moisture. Then, lay it flat somewhere to air dry. You can even hang it if you want—it’ll be just fine!
Storing Your Crochet Item
1. Use Your TJC Zipper Bag- Once your crochet piece is dry, store it in the frosted zipper bag we gave you. This keeps it dust-free and ready for its next wear.
- Always make sure your crochet is completely dry before storing it. And try not to leave it in dark, damp places for long periods—no one wants musty crochet!
We’re always here to help if you have any questions about caring for your crochet items. Just shoot us an email at support@tanijaycrochet.com.
